Teach For America is excited to participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 21, 2019. We’re teaming up with 3 schools in Chicago to engage in service projects that will make a difference for students. Interested in joining our projects and volunteering on MLK Day?
Check out the projects below and RSVP by Friday, January 18.
Chavez Elementary School: Chavez is proud of its artwork throughout the school created by members of the community and wants to make sure that other features in the school match that beauty. We’ll be sprucing up stairs and fixtures with a fresh coat of paint to brighten up the hallway for students.
CICS Lloyd Bond: CICS Lloyd Bond is creating new spaces for students to use during the school day. We’ll be cleaning out storage areas and turning them into spaces for students to use.
Nobel Elementary: Nobel is committed to creating a positive environment for their students. We’ll be painting benches and shelves a beautiful turquoise blue and cleaning out the school resource room for students to use.
