How a City Learned to Improve Its Schools

Teach For America Greater Chicago–Northwest Indiana is delighted to extend an invitation to our network for a program on January 22, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Town Hall, One North State. RSVP HERE.

TFA corps members, alumni, donors, partners, and community members will gather to take part in a presentation and panel discussion about the book How a City Learned to Improve Its Schools, a comprehensive analysis of the astonishing changes that transformed the Chicago public school system from one of the worst in the nation to one of the fastest improving urban school districts.

The evening will include a brief presentation from two of the co-authors of the book: Penny Sebring, Co-Founder of the UChicago Consortium on School Research and Al Bertani, Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Following this will be a discussion about the role of strong organizational partnerships in driving progress, which will feature Anajah Philogene, Executive Director of TFA Greater Chicago–Northwest Indiana; Aimée Eubanks Davis, Founder and CEO of Braven; Al Bertani; and other organizational leaders and experts.

Light refreshments will be served and every attendee will take home a copy of How a City Learned to Improve Its Schools. We hope you can join us!

RSVP HERE.
