Rise Fellowship

Building teacher capacity in leading adults.

Inside every excellent school is a team of incredible teacher leaders, but how did they get to be that way? Just like instructional leadership in the classroom, leading the adults you work with is a craft to be developed.

The Rise Fellowship aims to increase the impact of current teacher leaders and prepare more teachers to take on leadership roles within their schools. The fellowship consists of six seminars where fellows learn and practice key skills for leading adults and improving school outcomes.

Fellow Testimonials

  • This fellowship has taught me how people can come together (sharing the same common good) to grow and learn together. During this fellowship we were able to talk through different situations and get a clear understanding on how to get the best results. It allowed me to feel included in a space I had no idea existed. This space included current and future leaders sharing and caring about the people around them mostly including people they work with or service.

  • Being a part of the Rise Fellowship took my leadership to another level. The fellowship was instrumental in helping me to implement the most appropriate leadership style for me and one that my team members would best respond to. It helped me become a better decision-maker because it taught me that, as a leader, I have to function at a high level of emotional intelligence in order to make informed, intelligent decisions. Finally, I learned how to give feedback to mo- tivate and increase the skill level of the team I am working with. I enjoyed being a part of the fellowship and would recommend it to anyone interested in learning leadership skills.

  • The Rise Fellowship was such a refreshing ex- perience because it provided me the space to connect with peers who had similar passions and goals. The Rise Fellowship was intentional about giving me the space and support to create something meaningful that could be used at my school and beyond. It was a space of reflection, support, and productivity. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to expand my leadership skills alongside so many powerful educators around Chicago.
